Bank holidays in 2023: Mobile banking, UPI and internet banking are not impacted by the upcoming bank holidays some of which include Kannada Rajyothsava, Karva Chauth, Diwali, Govardhan Pooja, Chhath, and Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Bank related work can be impacted due to holidays as it varies depending on each state.

Bank holidays in November 2023: Banks will be shut for 15 days in November for many festivals and national events. If you have a branch visit coming up soon, do check with your bank's schedule to avoid any delay.

All digital services such as mobile banking, UPI and internet banking are not impacted by the upcoming bank holidays some of which include Kannada Rajyothsava, Karva Chauth, Diwali, Govardhan Pooja, Chhath, and Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Here are the holidays when banks will be closed in different states

November 1 ( Wednesday)- Kannada Rajyotsava/Karva Chauth: Banks closed in Karnataka, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh.

November 10 (Friday)- Wangala Festival. Banks closed in Meghalaya.

November 13 (Monday)- Govardhan Pooja/Laxmi Puja (Deepawali)/Diwali: Banks are closed in Tripura, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

November 14(Tuesday)- Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Deepavali/Vikram Samvant

New Year Day/Laxmi Puja- Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Sikkim.

November 15 (Wednesday)- (Bhaidooj/Chitragupt Jayanti/Laxmi Puja (Deepawali)/Ningol Chakkouba/Bhratridwitiya). Banks closed in Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh.

November 20 (Monday)- Chhath (Morning Arghya). Banks closed in Bihar and Rajasthan.

November 23 (Tuesday)- Seng Kutsnem/Egaas-Bagwaal. Banks closed in Uttarakhand and Sikkim.

November 27 (Monday)- Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima. Banks shut in Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad – Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh.

November 30 (Thursday)- Kanakadasa Jayanthi. Banks closed in Karnataka.

The RBI puts holidays under three categories --Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. Bank holidays vary across states, depending on the festival being observed in specific states. For gazetted holidays, banks will be closed all over the country.
