Banks across India will remain shut on multiple days in May 2025 on account of holidays including Buddha Purnima, Maharana Pratap Jayanti and others.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notifies bank holidays in advance every year, which are followed by banks across the country.
These holidays vary from state to state and are not uniformly observed, except for national holidays, gazetted holidays and festivals like Diwali.
The holiday list issued by the RBI is separate from the regular second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays.
Digital banking services will remain operational during the holidays. Customers can continue to use internet banking, mobile banking, UPI and WhatsApp banking for transactions.
Customers are advised to check with their respective branches for state-specific holiday schedules.
