The Bandra East seat was created after the delimitation process and is part of the Mumbai North Central constituency.
The main political parties in Maharashtra include the BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and MNS.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti trailed in the Bandra East Assembly seat, with Congress Mumbai unit chief Varsha Gaikwad leading by 27,462 votes over BJP's Ujjwal Nikam.

Zeeshan Siddique, a sitting MLA and son of the late Baba Siddique, is contesting on behalf of Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Varun Sardesai, nephew-in-law of Uddhav Thackeray, has been fielded by the Shiv Sena (UBT) MVA.
Trupti Sawant, a former Shiv Sena MLA from the constituency and a candidate from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), is also contesting the seat, making it a three-way race.
Bandra East Assembly Election 2019 results
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, the BJP-led NDA initially secured a majority, but alliance disputes led the Shiv Sena, under Uddhav Thackeray, to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) with the NCP and INC, making Thackeray the Chief Minister.
The Bandra East he constituency had 2,51,371 voters, of which turnout was 50.36%. Among minorities, 33.1% were Muslims and 1.9%, Christians.
Zeeshan Siddique (Congress) won by 5,790 votes, defeating Vishwanath Mahadeshwar of the undivided Shiv Sena.

The Election Commission of India has confirmed that Maharashtra’s Assembly elections will be held in a single phase for all 288 seats, in contrast to the two-phase elections in Jharkhand. Voting for the Bandra East constituency, along with all other seats in Maharashtra, will take place on November 20. Vote counting for all seats in Maharashtra will be conducted on November 23, alongside the counting of votes in Jharkhand. Additionally, the results for bypolls to 48 Assembly seats and 2 Lok Sabha seats across 15 states will also be announced on the same day.
