Right then, that is it from this game and we are already two games down in this Tri-Series, with Pakistan coming out trumps in both matches. Next up, it will be the home side, United Arab Emirates taking on Afghanistan at the same venue on Monday, 1st September. That game will begin at 3 pm GMT but you can always tune in sooner for the build-up. Cheers!
The victorious captain of Pakistan, SALMAN AGHA, reflects that they batted really well. Admits that they bowled with control in the first 15 overs, but leaked runs in the last five. Stresses that it is one area where they are focusing on improving. Appreciates Hasan Nawaz and calls him a generational talent with a great future. Adds that he just needs to keep working on his game. Stresses to get better in the death bowling and feels the need to do better in the next game. Ends by adding that he wants his side to play an aggressive brand of cricket.
The skipper of United Arab Emirates, MUHAMMAD WASEEM says that the team gave away 15-20 runs extra in the first innings but appreciates the fight from the batters to keep the game alive till the end. Speaks highly about the performance from Asif Khan and feels lucky to have a talent like him in their team. And also points out that, they need to mix their bowlers a bit and would look to bounce back in the upcoming matches.
Pakistan's SAIM AYUB is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fine knock of 69 off just 38 deliveries. He says that it's pleasing to see different players performing at different times. Says he does not like individual awards and calls them overrated, as cricket is a team game. Adds that it is all about the execution, to pick the length and wait for the bad balls. Shares that he is working on his bowling and is getting better at it. On how difficult it is to maintain consistency in T20 cricket, he says you just need to keep your thought process clear.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Pakistan won the toss and opted to set the tone with the bat. That is exactly what Saim Ayub did with a half-century and just like the previous game, Pakistan has a substantial contribution from at least one of their openers, which laid the foundation of things to come. Hasan Nawaz was the enforcer in the middle order and he too scored a half-century, helping his side breach the 200-run mark. Saghir Khan and Junaid Siddique picked up three wickets each but they were expensive and no UAE bowler really was able to put the brakes on Pakistan's charge.
UAE will look back at this contest and feel that they could have actually pulled off an upset here. Pakistan's bowling lineup was weakened and the UAE skipper, Muhammad Waseem, provided his team with a quick start. However, the rest of the top order failed to make an impact as Asif Khan played a lone and substantial hand in the second half of the chase. Unfortunately, his exploits weren't enough for the home side to get over the line.
Pakistan had the runs on the board and a few wickets up top were all they needed. The first wicket didn't come early on but once it came, their bowlers pounced on the opportunity and exposed the middle order of the UAE. The spinners did a fine job, especially Mohammad Nawaz, who was economical and picked up a couple of wickets as well. Without the likes of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf in the lineup, the death bowling wasn't at its best but they had done enough to ensure a comfortable victory. And, Hasan Ali did end proceedings with a couple of wickets in the final over, even though he was expensive overall.
Pakistan make it two wins out of two to kickstart this Tri-Series and they are now in a dominant position. United Arab Emirates open their account with a loss and are in the same boat as Afghanistan.
19.6Slows it up, does Hasan Ali, an off cutter, around off, on a fullish length. Junaid looks to smash it away, and misses to lay his bat on ball. PAKISTAN WIN BY 31 RUNS!

Asif Khan shapes up to pull it over the leg side, but gets the ball high on the body and ends up top-edging it over square leg. Goes only as far as deep square leg and Sahibzada Farhan runs in a few yards from the deep and settles under it to take a fine catch. Good gesture from the tourists as every Pakistani player walks towards Asif and appreciates his blistering knock. 16.6A slower off cutter, outside off. Saghir Khan tries to slog it across, but misses to connect.
16.5FOUR! Salman Mirza bowls a bumper, around off and surprises the batter a bit. Saghir Khan stays deep inside the crease and manages to flat bat it above the bowler's head. But the replay shows that he comes in contact with the cushions in the process, with the ball in his hand, and it is deemed as a boundary!

DRINKS BREAK. With 39 on the board, and the scoring rate in the vicinity of 10 runs per over, it looked like the United Arab Emirates could throw a huge challenge to Pakistan. Muhammad Waseem showed his muscle and got them off to a really positive start, but him getting run out at the most inopportune time opened the floodgates and UAE slipped down to 68/4 in no time. And since the restrictions have lifted, Pakistan have conceded just 21 runs in the last four overs. A lot will depend on Rahul Chopra now. He will have to dig deep and stay till the end to get the game closer. Here's Mohammad Nawaz back into the attack after the break.

The throw arrives at Hasan Ali, with Waseem struggling to make his ground. Hasan collects it and throws the ball into the stumps at the non-striker's end. The replay shows that even the dive from Waseem couldn't save him as he is caught short of his crease. Muhammad Waseem is distraught and trudges off for a fine 33 off just 18. United Arab Emirates are 54/2.

5.2The length is pulled back and the pace is taken off this time. On a length, on top of middle. Waseem again backs away and tries to cut it square on the off side, but the ball just kicks up a bit to beat the outside edge.

Ethan D'souza is in at 3.
4.1OUT! GONE! CAUGHT! Mohammad Nawaz with the first breakthrough for Pakistan. He bowls from around the stumps and drags the length, short and on middle, giving less space to work with for Zohaib. The southpaw is hurried to go deep inside the crease to make room for himself, but mistimes it flat and off the toe end of the bat. Hits it straight to Hasan Nawaz at cover who takes a simple catch. Muhammad Zohaib goes for 13 (14) and the United Arab Emirates are 39/1.
Change? Nope. Mohammad Nawaz (1-0-9-) to continue.
3.6Pushed across the right-hander, on a length and around off. Muhammad Waseem looks to play that away from the body and gets a thick outside edge as the ball goes towards short third. A dot to finish off from Salman Mirza.

2.4FOUR! Swept across perfectly! Mohammad Nawaz drops it fuller and straighter at the stumps, with not much spin on it. Muhammad Waseem sits down and nails the sweep shot to beat the square leg fielder on his right for four runs.
2.3A huge, prolonged appeal for LBW, but not entertained. Pitching outside leg? An in-drifter, landing somewhere around the leg stump line, and turns away to the middle stump. Waseem is forced to draw his front foot out and tries to push it away, but plays all over it and is struck on the front pad. The replay shows that it just might have pitched outside leg.
2.2Drag-downer, on the leg stump. Muhammad Zohaib knocks it to the vacant mid-wicket region for a single.
2.1Quicker and shorter, across off, on a length. Zohaib backs away and punches it straight to cover.

The ball shoots over the stumps and races behind to the fine leg fence to beat the keeper on his right for the first boundary.
0.4Digs in a sharp short ball towards the right shoulder of Muhammad Zohaib, who sets up for the pull but the ball skids on to hit the gloves and dribbles towards short fine for a dot.
0.3IN THE AIR... Lands safe! Pitched full and around the off pole. Muhammad Zohaib mistimes it high up in the air, and straight down the ground off the toe end. Luckily for him, the ball lands in the safe zone and is chased by one of the fielders from the inner ring. Two taken. UAE and Zohaib are off the mark in the chase.
0.2The length is pulled back, outside off. Zohaib opens the bat face early and steers it to backward point.
