By the close of play, Ireland had lost three more wickets in the session, and with only 4 wickets remaining, they needed a near-impossible 333 runs more to win, or an entire day of resolute batting to save the Test. Bangladesh, with their spinners wreaking havoc, now stand with one foot firmly planted on a clean sweep of the series. The question remains whether the miracle of a drawn match is possible, or if the Test will conclude early on Day 5. Join us at 3.30 am GMT to find out, and a bit earlier for the buildup. Cheers!
At the Tea break, Ireland were reeling at 88/3, still needing a massive 421 runs. In the final session, the batting woes continued for the tourists as Bangladesh's spinners tightened their grip. Harry Tector was the only beacon of resistance, completing a resilient half-century before eventually falling. Lorcan Tucker soon followed, leaving the tail exposed. Though Curtis Campher and Stephen Doheny managed to hang around for a bit, and Doheny even survived a couple of dropped chances, Taijul Islam ensured his luck ran out.
In the second session, as soon as Mominul Haque fell, Bangladesh declared their innings, setting Ireland a massive target with a lead of 508 runs. The hosts unleashed their spin attack immediately, and the pressure was too much for the Irish openers. Taijul Islam, who became Bangladesh's highest Test wicket-taker during this spell, took care of both Stirling and Balbarnie. Harry Tector and Cade Carmichael then mounted a short counterattack until debutant Hasan Murad struck immediately upon introduction, dismissing Carmichael.
The players walk off the field and that will be STUMPS on Day 4! The fourth day of the Mirpur Test began with Bangladesh firmly in control, leading by a massive margin. However, Ireland managed a brief moment of joy when they dismissed opener Shadman Islam for 78, falling short of his century, and soon after, Najmul Hossain Shanto was also back in the pavilion. Reduced to 174/3, the host's commanding position looked slightly shaky, but this only brought Mominul Haque and the veteran Mushfiqur Rahim together. The pair just kept on batting. Mominul went on to score a superb half-century, inching towards his ton, while Mushfiqur was just shy of his own fifty, following up on his first-innings century in his 100th Test.

... DAY 4, SESSION 3 ...
Ireland still have a lot of time to achieve their target, but they need to make sure that the number of wickets stays as it is, whereas Bangladesh just need to go on their attacking mode and cash out as many scalps as they can on Day 4. Stick around with us as the last session of the day will commence in a few moments.
However, Cade Carmichael and Harry Tector had a huge job to protect their wicket till the Tea break. Both batters tried to rotate their strikes as much as they could, but we have to say, the track has provided some spin assist to Bangladesh's spinners. Just when Carmichael and Harry Tector crossed their partnership off 50 runs, Cade gave away the third wicket in the 20th over. Ireland have posted 88 runs on the board, but they still have 421 runs to chase.
Tea has been taken on Day 4 and it's not a breaking news that Bangladesh are leading the race to win this second Test. After the Lunch break, Bangladesh continued their batting and declared their inning after a humongous lead of 508. The second inning of Ireland started off on a bad note. They were kept under pressure by the Bangladeshi bowler from the moment they stepped on the field. However, Andy Balbirnie was the man who was dismissed first in the 6th over and just after a couple of overs, the Irish skipper, Paul Stirling lost his wicket too.
