India will be hoping that rain does not play spoilsport yet again when they face-off against Australia in the final T20I of the three-match series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on November 25. As things stand, Australia lead the series 1-0 after winning the first match via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method by four runs.
In the 2nd T20I at Melbourne, India took to the field with an unchanged playing XI but with renewed purpose to get their series back on track. They lost the first T20I after rain cut the game down to a 17-over encounter. However, the bowling performance in that game left much to be desired. Krunal Pandya (55 runs in 4 overs) and Khaleel Ahmed (42 runs in 3 overs) were particularly expensive in that match, but came back strong at Sydney.
India restricted the Aussies to just 132/7 after 19 overs before the heavens opened up. Khaleel and Krunal ended with figures of 2/39 and 1/26 respectively after 4 overs each. Khaleel shared the new-ball duties impressively with Bhuvneshwar Kumar as they tore through the Australian top-order. Krunal exacted revenge from Glenn Maxwell who hit him for three consecutive sixes in the previous match by castling him with an absolute ripper.
India were handed a revised score as the rains showed some signs of abating. They were set to take the field needing just 90 runs from 11 overs when the heavens opened up yet again and this time the umpires were forced to abandon the game.
India are currently unbeaten in 9 consecutive T20I series since August 2017 and have won their last seven series on the trot. They will be disappointed not to get an opportunity to add to that impressive winning run. However, they do have a chance to remain unbeaten if they can win the final match. Much will depend on the weather as Australia chase what will only be their second T20I series win of the year.

Players to watch out for:
Marcus Stoinis

The all-rounders performance in the first T20I is what proved to be the difference between the two sides. He added 33 off 19 with the bat before picking up two important wickets and defending 13 runs in the decisive final over. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him for 4 runs in the previous match and the Aussies will be hoping he comes back strong for the final encounter.
Kuldeep Yadav

The wily spinner has been excellent with the ball as the Australians have found it difficult to pick his line and deal with his variations. He has 3 wickets from 8 overs bowled so far while giving away just 47 runs. With the pitch at SCG known to assist spin, India can look forward to another effective performance from Kuldeep.
