Raymond Ltd's boss Gautam Singhania's latest Instagram post suggested that he's no longer at loggerheads with his father Vijaypat.

"Happy to have my father at home today and seek his blessings. Wishing you good health Papa always," said Singhania while attaching a picture of him and his father on the photo sharing app on March 20.

The rare display of affection between them comes at a time when Gautam Singhania is in the middle of a divorce battle with Nawaz Modi who is demanding 75 percent of his wealth as part of the settlement to secure the financial well-being of their two daughters, Niharika and Nisa.

Gautam Singhania, current Chairman and MD of Raymond, announced his separation from his wife Nawaz Modi on November 13. After separation, Nawaz Modi has reportedly sought 75 per cent of Gautam Singhania's Rs 11,000 crore wealth.

A couple of hours after Singhania posted the picture, it garnered over 22,000 likes and 400 comments on Instagram. He has 1.5 million followers on Instagram and 2.2 million followers on X (formerly Twitter).

In November 2023, Vijaypat told Business Today his son "took away everything from him", and that he survives on the little money he is left with.

“I have no business. He had agreed to give me some parts of the company. But of course, for him to back out is a two-second deal, he backed out. So I have nothing else, I gave him everything. By mistake I was left with some money on which I'm surviving today. Otherwise I would have been on the road. He'd be happy to see me on the road. I'm sure of that. If he can throw his wife out like this, throw his father out like this, I don't know what he is,” he said.

On March 20, Raymond's shares on BSE closed 2 percent higher at Rs 1,742.5.

In 2017, Vijaypat had alleged that Raymond Ltd hasn't given him possession of a duplex in the multi-storey JK House building in south Mumbai. As per a 2007 family agreement, Vijaypat and his son Gautam, and the widow and two sons of Vijaypat's brother Ajaypat Singhania, were to get a duplex each in JK House, a family property.

Vijaypat said he was denied a flat in Singhania family's 36-storey JK House in South Mumbai. The former industrialist had alleged in his petition that Gautam was occupying more area in the JK House than he was entitled to. He also said that Raymond failed to respond to his offers of payment to get possession of the duplex.

Vijaypat stepped down as chairman of the prominent company in 2015 after handing over the reins to Gautam.

The rift worsened after Vijaypat, an avid aviator, alleged that many invaluable documents and a gold medal given by the President of India were missing from his cabin at Mahindra Tower in Worli.

Many Instagram users praised Singhania for his post. "Great to see you both getting along after all those controversies," said one Instagram user.

"Give your dad the love peace and happiness he deserves. This is your opportunity to show him your love," said another Instagram user.
