Moneycontrol earlier reported that Wipro has informed employees that it is implementing a compulsory hybrid work policy starting November 15, where staffers have to be present in the office at least three days a week.

Amid rising coronavirus cases across India, information technology (IT) major Wipro said it has adopted a flexible workplace approach, to "prioritise the well-being of its employees while aligning to the clients’ needs and ensuring the talent’s professional growth".

“Since November, fully vaccinated employees have been returning to work, three days a week. We continue to adhere strictly to local directives and take necessary precautions to make sure all safeguard measures are in place,” the company told Moneycontrol.

India, on December 23, saw a single-day rise of 752 coronavirus infections, the highest since May 21, 2023, while the active cases have increased to 3,420, according to Union Health Ministry data.

Queries sent on preparedness to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, and Tech Mahindra did not elicit a response as of publishing this report.

Sixty-three cases of Covid sub-variant JN.1 were reported in the country till Sunday, including 34 in Goa, official sources said. Nine cases have been detected in Maharashtra, eight in Karnataka, six in Kerala, four in Tamil Nadu, and two in Telangana, they added.

"Delhi is witnessing three-four (Covid) cases every day, which means the positivity rate is less than 1 per cent. The samples of the positive patients have been sent for genome sequencing," an official said.

Moneycontrol earlier reported that Wipro has informed employees that it is implementing a compulsory hybrid work policy starting November 15, where staffers have to be present in the office at least three days a week.

"Starting November 15, all employees must be present at their assigned office location for at least three days each week. This change aims to enhance teamwork, facilitate face-to-face interactions, and strengthen Wipro's culture," the mail from Wipro's Chief Human Resources Officer Saurabh Govil read.
