Waaree Energies acquires 64 pc stake in Kotsons for Rs 192 crore

Waaree Energies Ltd on Tuesday announced that it has acquired a 64% equity stake in transformer manufacturer Kotsons Private Limited (KPL) for ₹192 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

Following the transaction, Kotsons Private Limited has become a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, the company said in its statement to the exchanges.

“Waaree Energies Limited has completed the acquisition of 64 per cent equity stake in Kotsons Private Limited for a total consideration of ₹192 crore,” the company said.

Kotsons Private Limited, headquartered in India, specialises in the design, manufacturing, and supply of advanced transformer solutions catering to power utilities, industrial sectors, and renewable energy projects.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Waaree Energies’ capabilities across the solar and power infrastructure value chain, enabling the company to enhance its offerings in the renewable energy segment through backward integration and technology synergies.
