Tata Projects, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, plans to hire more than 1,000 people in FY2024 to drive ongoing tasks and prepare for expansion, an official said.

The Tata Group company planned to hire about 1,300 candidates across roles in various projects this year and has already recruited 1,100 people. In the next financial year, the target is 1,000 new hires. However, this figure may fluctuate, depending on attrition.

Moneycontrol reported earlier that although attrition levels are higher than in previous years at Tata Projects, it is still lower than the industry average. The war for talent is intense as investments in infrastructure continue to be high with many large projects announced across the country.

As an EPC company, Tata Projects needs a mix of freshers and lateral talent. The company also needs people for HR, finance, and administration.
“Recently, we launched our ERP (enterprise resource planning) implementation project, so we are also recruiting around 200-250 IT and ERP experts this year,” Ganesh Chandan, CHRO of Tata Projects, told Moneycontrol.

The company currently has over 5,700 employees on its payroll and more than 220 ongoing projects. Tata Projects has been involved in the Noida International Airport site. The company was selected from three shortlisted teams with experience in designing, procuring, and constructing large projects.

Through the year, Tata Projects has recruited entry-level talent from premier institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology and the National Institutes of Technology.

Managerial hiring is focussed on candidates who understand the larger business goals and financials and work towards maintaining a positive P&L and can manage workers, contractors and local communities, Chandan said.
