Moneycontrol BureauShares of Lycos Internet gained 10 percent intraday Monday as it is going to acquire an Austrian company, TriTelA Gmbh, which owns mysms messenger and the tech platforms SPH Wien and Kika Social.In this deal the Lycos will issue 2.848 crore additional shares in return for the 100 percent ownership of the company."mysms is a messenger that synchronises SMSes and instant messages between the wide range of mobile, web and desktop platform - all through a single cloud based-account. This product already has three million users and synchronising several hundred millions of messages," as per BSE release."SPH Wien is a content management and analytics platform for video and Kika Social is an unified platform for social media listening, engaging and measurement," it added.The company's third quarter (Sept-Dec) net profit increased by 27 percent at Rs 125.17 crore against Rs 98.87 crore, in the same quarter last year. At 09:24 hrs Lycos Internet was quoting at Rs 29.50, up Rs 2.15, or 7.86 percent on the BSE.Posted by Rakesh Patil
