Nifty 5500 Put adds 9.55 lakh shares in Open Interest

Total Stock Futures added 3 crore shares in open interest, which added 8.2 crore in last 4 days.

FIIs have net bought Rs 1291 crore in Index Futures on Wednesday; Index Futures' open interest (OI) was up by 15206 contracts.


Total Stock Futures added 3 crore shares in open interest, which added 8.2 crore in last 4 days.


Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.32 versus 1.30. Nifty 5500 Put added 9.55 lakh shares in Open Interest.


Speculative buying was seen in JP POWER, KS Oils and Firstsource Solutions. JP Power rallied 6%; its OI was up by 7% and delivery volume increased at 5.6 lakh shares as against 1.7 lakh shares.


KS Oils shot up 8%; its OI was up by 14% and delivery volume went up at 52.2 lakh shares versus 50.7 lakh. It added over 1 crore shares in last 4 days - highest in stock futures.


Firstsource surged 10.5%; its OI was up by 3% and delivery volume jumped at 25.5 lakh shares versus 18.7 lakh shares. It added 29 lakh shares in last 4 days.


Short covering was seen in NTPC and Reliance Communications. NTPC gained 4%; its OI was down by 8% and delivery volume shot up at 26.6 lakh shares versus 1.6 crore shares.


Reliance Communications rose 4.5%; its OI was down by 3% and delivery volume increased at 19 lakh shares versus 15 lakh shares.

Fresh shorts were seen in GMR INFRA. The stock plunged 3.3%; its OI was up by 4% and delivery volume declined at 17.3 lakh shares as against 43.3 lakh shares.
