Sanjay Kumar Jain, an Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) Officer of 1990 batch, has taken over as the chairman and managing director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with immediate effect, a regulatory filing stated on February 14.

His appointment was given the nod by the Ministry of Railways on February 8.

The appointment has been made on "immediate absorption basis, in the scale of pay of Rs. 1,80,000-3,20,000", IRCTC informed the exchanges.

Jain will hold the charge till the date of his superannuation on December 31, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is the earlier, it added.

Before assuming the full-time charge of IRCTC chairman and MD, Jain was serving as the principal chief commercial manager of Northern Railway.

Notably, the position of IRCTC chairman and MD was vacant since January 2021, following the retirement of Mahendra Pratap Maal.
