Equity funds remained on the positive terrain led by uptick in the market. The markets stayed higher for major part of the first session of April amid choppy trade. The Large cap and Small cap & Midcap indices moved up 1-1.7%.  As the markets closed higher, all equity and balanced funds registered positive returns with only few losers in either category.

In the sector space, barring FMCG schemes all others ended with positive returns.

The BSE benchmark rose 73.95 points or 0.42%, to close at 17,478.15 while Nifty managed to hold the 5300 level quite nicely.
