Specialty chemicals company Heubach Colorants on January 2 reported about a fire incident at its Roha Plant in Maharashtra's Raigad district, due to which it has temporarily suspended operations at the factory and is in the process of ascertaining the damage.
The fire occured on the evening of January 1, and there have been no injuries or casualties, said Heubach. "The Company is currently investigating the root cause of the incident and assessing the extent of damage," said the exchange filing.
The damage due to the fire accident is 'adequately covered' by a comprehensive insurance policy with a sum assured of Rs 932.52 crore, said Heubach Colorants. "The claim process with the insurance company has been initiated, and we have requested a surveyor to assess the situation," the statement said.
The warehouse stores pigment used for final manufacturing. "...since the Company is in the process of ascertaining the damage caused by the fire, the estimated impact, if any, on the production / operations due to the fire will be intimated in due course," said the company.
