Euro zone unemployment rate holds steady at 11.5% in November

Investing.com - Investing.com - The euro zone's unemployment rate held steady for the fifth consecutive month in November, official data showed on Wednesday.In a report, Eurostat said that the euro zone's unemployment rate was unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 11.5% in November, in line with market expectations.The data showed that among the member states, the lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Austria (4.9%), Germany (5.0%), and the highest in Greece (25.7% in September 2014) and Spain (23.9%).EUR/USD was trading at 1.1866 from around 1.1853 ahead of the release of the data, while EUR/GBP was at 0.7844 from 0.7840 earlier.Meanwhile, European stock markets added to gains. The EURO STOXX 50 inched up 0.5%, Germany's DAX tacked on 0.6%, France's CAC 40 rose 0.65%, while London's FTSE 100 advanced 0.6%.
