Shares of renewable energy producer ACME Solar are sharply higher by over 8 percent on July 28, emerging as among the top gainers on NSE 500 index, after the management posted a many-fold jump in net profit at Rs 131 crore during the June quarter and a 72 percent on year growth in revenue at Rs 584 crore, powered by operational efficiencies.
The operational capacity of ACME stood at 2,890 MW, higher by 115.7 percent as compared to a year ago, and the capacity utilisation factor (CUF) rose from 27 percent a year ago to 28.5 percent in the June quarter. The company also disclosed that it has signed PPAs for around 55% of its under-construction capacity, and commissioned projects worth 350 MW capacity during Q1FY26. Out of this 350MW, the solar capacity at Sikar, Rajasthan, worth 300 MW, has been contracted by SECI. The power company said it won its maiden standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project worth 550 MWh from NHPC during Q1FY26. ACME also commissioned 50 MW capacity wind power project at Pokhran with GUVNL.
Chairperson and MD Manoj Kumar Upadhyay said, "We remain confident in our long-term growth trajectory and are committed to delivering sustainable value to all stakeholders."
Operationally, ACME's power generation was higher by 107.1 percent on year, driven by higher Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) and fresh capacity addition. The management has projected a target to have 10 GW in generation capacity and 15 GWh as BESS capacity by 2030. ACME's under-construction portfolio now stands at 4,080 MW along with 550 MWh of standalone BESS (battery energy storage system) capacity.
