The Indian rupee opened at 44.90 per dollar versus 44.99 yesterday.

Pramit Brahmbhatt, Alpari India said that, "The rupee may weaken on global cues. Correction in precious metals and oil prices may also impact the currency. The range for the day is seen between 44.90-45.20 today."
