Govt should focus on creating jobs, eradiating poverty: Anil Agarwal of Vedanta

With the BJP consolidating its win in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Anil Agarwal, Executive Chairman, Vedanta on his reaction on the victory for BJP and all the things happening in the economy.

This election was the catalyst for Modi government to move forward and their victory is a good sign for the state of Gujarat, said Agarwal.

The government has undertaken phenomenal reforms in the past but going forward they need to give boost to the private enterprises to take the country/economy to a different level – create jobs and eradicate poverty.
He said exploration of natural resources will drive nation forward.

There is tremendous opportunity to improve infrastructure.

He is also extremely bullish on Aluminium going forward on back of increase in consumption of the metal.
