    Taj GVK on May 23 announced 80 percent surge in net profit at Rs 26 crore in the quarter ended March 31 as compared to Rs 14.44 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the stock exchanges.

    Sequentially, the hospitality firm's profit rose close to 7 percent from Rs 24.21 crore in the December quarter.

    Revenue from operations was recorded at Rs 115.84 crore, up almost 12 percent as compared to Rs 103.62 crore in the same period a year ago.

    The firm’s EBITDA was up 62 percent at Rs 41 crore, from Rs 25.3 crore in the year-ago period, while the margin stood at 35.3 percent in the reported quarter.

    Following the announcement of earnings, the stock gained over 6 percent to trade at Rs 387.25 on BSE at 13:47 pm on May 23.

    The board of the company also announced a dividend of Rs 1.5 per equity share.
