Motherson Sumi posted a mixed quarter in Q3 that came in slightly below street estimates as margins were hit by higher raw material prices. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of the Motherson Sumi Group spoke about the results and his outlook for the company.

It is overall a phenomenal performance by the team but it is work in progress, he said.

We have got nine new plants, which are coming into fructification along with 40 percent growth in the heavy-truck sales in Europe, he added.

On margins, I would like to say that the standalone and the consolidated performance of the company -- we have a huge uptrend in the copper prices, some of the raw materials are also going up and oil has also firmed up a bit but results have come quite good, said Sehgal.

Speaking about acquisitions he said that there will be a series of things that will happen. You wait for another three months and see what happens.
