State-run oil & gas exploration company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is expected to report a 15.8 percent quarter-on-quarter degrowth in net profit at Rs 4,600 crore for July-September quarter, according to analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.
Fall in operational performance and realisation may impact bottomline but lower discount to oil marketing companies may support.
Operating profit may decline 11.7 percent to Rs 10,600 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 12,000 crore in preceding quarter.
Volume may remain flat on sequential basis. Gross realisation is seen down by 13 percent quarter-on-quarter on fall in crude oil prices but net realisation may not fall as much as gross realisation due to lower discount to oil marketing companies.
