Tata group hospitality firm Indian Hotels Company today reported widening of its standalone net loss to Rs 9 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 4.81 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal, Indian Hotels Co Ltd (IHCL) said in a BSE filing.
Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 474.47 crore as against Rs 446.1 crore in the year-ago period, up 6.35 percent, it added.
In view of the seasonality of the sector, the financial results for the quarter are not indicative of the full year's expected performance, the company said.
The company's total expenses during the quarter were higher at Rs 455.54 crore as against Rs 441.1 crore in the corresponding period lat fiscal.
