Idea Cellular Q3 loss seen at Rs 445 cr, ARPU may fall 9%

Telecom operator Idea Cellular's third quarter earnings are expected to be weak, impacted by demonetisation and Reliance Jio's free offer. It is expected to post loss of Rs 445 crore against profit of Rs 91.5 crore in previous quarter.

Telecom operator Idea Cellular's third quarter earnings are expected to be weak, impacted by demonetisation and Reliance Jio's free offer. It is expected to post loss of Rs 445 crore against profit of Rs 91.5 crore in previous quarter.

Revenue during the quarter may fall 4.6 percent to Rs 8,870 crore from Rs 9,300.2 crore in previous quarter, according to analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.

Operating profit is likely to decline to Rs 2,415 crore from Rs 2,840.1 crore and margin may shrink to 27.23 percent from 30.54 percent on sequential basis.

Revenue per minute may fall 9.5 percent to 42.5 paise and average revenue per minute is seen declining 8.7 percent to Rs 158 from previous quarter.

Voice revenue per minute is likely to dip 7.8 percent quarter-on-quarter to 30.5 paise but volumes may grow 5 percent to 205 billion minutes and minutes of usage may grow 2.7 percent to 378 in Q3.
