Deepak Fertilisers today said it has changed its shares registrar to Karvy Computershare, after the earlier registrar was barred by the market watchdog SEBI.
In March this year, Sebi had banned registrar and transfer agent Sharepro Services from the securities market after alleged illegal transfer of shares and dividend money of companies.
The board today approved the change of registrar from Sharepro Services to Karvy Computershare with effect from July 1. The company is in the process of executing necessary agreement with Karvy, Deepak Fertilisers said in a regulatory filing.
Sharepro Services (I) Pvt Ltd has been the registrar and share transfer agent for many top companies, including Britannia, Asian Paints, Tata Communications and Kansai Nerolac.
