KEC International bags orders worth Rs 612 cr

KEC International, an RPG Group company in the engineering, procurement and construction segment, today said it has secured orders worth Rs 612 crore in last one month from various customers across the world.

    KEC International, an RPG Group company in the engineering, procurement and construction segment, said it has secured orders worth Rs 612 crore in last one month from various customers across the world. "We secured orders worth Rs 612 crore in various business segments, including transmission, power systems, cables and water businesses. They (the orders) are coming from all over the globe," the company's MD & CEO Ramesh Chandak told PTI.


    He added that KEC has a total order book of over Rs 9,000 crore and the company has posted a revenue growth of over 32 per cent in the first half of this fiscal. Besides, the company has also been expanding to new markets like Uganda where it won a Rs 53 crore order for design, supply and construction of 33 kV distribution lines and associated low voltage networks on turnkey basis, Chandak said. The order is secured from the Rural Electrification Board of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development of Uganda and has to be completed in 12 months.


    Besides, the company secured orders worth Rs 434 crore in the transmission business from Power Grid Corporation of India and some other clients based in Brazil, Mexico and United States, KEC said in a separate statement. Moreover, the company also bagged Rs 44 crore order for establishment of water system civil works for NTPC's super thermal power project in Solapur, Maharashtra and orders worth Rs 81 crore  for supply of power and telecom cables from several other clients.

    KEC International is RPG group flagship firm and it has presence in 46 countries across South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Americas. In 2011-12, the company had reported a net profit of Rs 181.84 crore and revenue of Rs 4,604.33 crore. During the July-September quarter, its net profit was Rs 2.49 crore and revenue of Rs 1,289.24 crore. Shares of the company were trading at Rs 67.25 apiece on the BSE in late afternoon trade, up 1.82 per cent from the previous close.
