      Tata Steel late on Thursday said it was withdrawing an earlier announcement on its December quarter performance in India, due to an error in the statement.


      The company's spokesman did not elaborate on the error.

      Earlier on Thursday, the world's seventh-largest steelmaker, said sales from its Indian operations rose 3% in the October to December period to 1.64 million tonnes.
