"Market participants weighed the extent of potential rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year. Adding to the uncertainty, President Trump indicated that a new Fed Chair could be announced as early as September, potentially curbing Chair Powell’s influence ahead of his term's expiry and increasing the significance of the incoming nominee. Meanwhile, stronger-than-expected U.S. economic data limited the upside in gold prices," said Axis Securities.
