The Banking Gyansangam that has been a routine affair for the past two years has been deferred. Primarily because of rising non-performing assets (NPAs), the mergers which are on the cards and a lot of capital infusion that is pending for the banks.

The Banking Gyan Sangam, which is conducted in March and has been a routine affair for the past two years, has been deferred. Primarily because of rising non-performing assets (NPAs), mergers which are on the cards and a lot of capital infusion that is pending for the banks.

The government now wants to wait and see the health of various banks before going out for future planning strategy.

Banking Gyan Sangam is likely to be held after all major banks report their first quarter results for FY18. It will then chart a future planning strategy so that the strategy encompasses the entire challenges that the sector is going through now.
