The manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru, co-owned by Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, faces legal action following allegations of operating beyond the permissible hours, according to a report in News18.
According to an FIR filed at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru, the establishment was found serving customers at 1:20 am, violating the mandated closing time of 1 am on July 6, reported News18.
The incident came to light when a sub-inspector, conducting night patrols, responded to reports and confirmed the activity. Authorities have reportedly taken similar action against three other pubs in the area, it added.
One8 Commune, a project of Virat Kohli, includes locations in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and other major cities. The Bengaluru outlet was launched in December last year. It is located near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Kasturaba Road, on the sixth floor of Ratnam's Complex.
Virat Kohli's One8 Commune has branches in major metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch, situated on the sixth floor of Ratnam's Complex, was inaugurated in December last year.
Last year, a controversy arose when a man from Tamil Nadu shared a video on X alleging he was denied entry to the Mumbai branch of One8 Commune for wearing a "veshti". He expressed disappointment and hurt over the incident.
