Federal Bank approved Krishnan Venkat Subramanian's appointment as Managing Director & CEO on August 31. The bank in its stock exchange filing said effective September 23, 2024, Subramanian's term will last for three years and his position will be subject to retirement by rotation.
Subramanian, previously Joint Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited until April 30, 2024, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. During his tenure at Kotak Mahindra Bank, he led various divisions including Corporate, Banking, Commercial banking, Private Banking and Asset Reconstruction business. He played a key role in enhancing the bank's technology and transaction banking capabilities, as well as overseeing its Investment Banking and Institutional Equities businesses.
His background includes serving as Head of the Consumer Bank from 2003 to 2014 and significant contributions to the NBFC sector under Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd and in Investment Banking.
Subramanian holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, a Postgraduate degree in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and is a Cost and Works Accountant.
