This helps you in better financial planning. After all, time is money. The month of April starts with a holiday for most of the banks. It is due to the norms stated by the Reserve Bank of India, which mandates closure of April 1st. Hence, almost all banks across major cities in the country will remain shut for 'closing of accounts'. The RBI calendar, which is issued at the start of each year, states that each city will have bank holiday based on the local traditions as well as events of pan-India relevance.
