Apple's much-awaited iPhone 15 series went on sale in India on Friday, September 22 at 8 am. The much-awaited newest edition of the flagship phone series has finally landed on Indian shores for direct purchase after being available for preorder in several countries over the last week. The iPhone 15 series is available at physical stores and on Apple's website. Apple iPhone 15 series had gone on pre-order in India, along with 40 other countries, on September 15 but starting today, the company will begin shipping the pre-orders in India.
As expected, there were long queues outside the Cupertino-based tech giant's India stores in Mumbai's BKC and New Delhi's Saket. People rushed to the flagships stores across the two cities to get a feel of the new series, while a lucky few managed to purchase their new iPhone 15. The craze for the much-awaited iPhone reflects in the company's performance in the country as it pipped Samsung for first time to become largest smartphone exporter from India.
This strong performance in India is attributed to a significant increase in the company's production of the iPhone series, which is facilitated by its contract manufacturers: Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron.
While the sale of the iPhone 15 series has already begun today across 40 countries, Apple fans in Macao, Malaysia, Turkey, Vietnam, and 17 other nations will have to be patient to get their hands on the new device as the flagship product will hit these region only on September 29.
