Entrepreneur, mother and actor Shahid Kapoor’s better half Mira Rajput Kapoor recently added another feather to her cap as she turned showstopper for the Mumbai-based designer duo Monica Shah and Karishma of the fashion label Jade. The event, held at the historic Travancore House in Delhi, was a spectacle of fashion and elegance, with Mira stealing the spotlight in a breathtaking blue and silver embellished lehenga.
As she walked the runway, Mira embodied the essence of a modern-day bride, donning a greyish-blue lehenga that dazzled with intricate embellishments. The lehenga, a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship, was part of brand’s latest collection, “A Bride’s Reverie,” which pays homage to the journey of every bride—a journey filled with self-expression, love, and pride in cultural heritage. Mira’s show-stopping lehenga featured Indian signature techniques, including tone-on-tone embroidery, ombre effects, and intricate zari work. The lehenga set was a harmonious blend of traditional artistry and contemporary design, a hallmark of the designer label. The subtle yet dazzling combination of blue and silver tones created a mesmerizing effect, perfectly complementing Mira’s natural elegance and poise.
Jade’s recent runway collection was showcased as a celebration of the bride's journey, highlighting her strength, beauty, and individuality through each meticulously crafted piece. Designer Monica Shah described the inspiration for the collection as deeply personal, and mentioned, "I’ll never forget the day I became a bride. It was a feeling so profound—a journey of discovering something new and embracing my true self. The emotions, excitement, and challenges shaped me, and I wanted to capture that essence in this collection," she shared.
The collection showcased a range of bridal wear, including gowns, saris, lehengas, corsets, and jackets. Reinventing traditional Indian craftsmanship techniques such as ek taar embroidery on velvet and Banarasi silk, coupled with delicate floral motifs, crystal bows, metallic threads, and sheer laces, added layers of romance and sophistication to the collection. The outfits on the ramp were elevated by fine jewellery from M Raj Sons, which added an extra layer of elegance and sophistication to the bridal looks.
Sharing the highlights from the runway, Mira took to Instagram and shared the looks from the evening. Captioning her post, Mira wrote, "Walking the runway for @jade_bymk once again felt as special as the first time.
