Paneer bhurji with a South Indian twist

Food creator Parichay pleasantly surprised the internet by adding South Indian podi (powder) to traditional paneer bhurji. This gave it a distinct, fresh flavour. He shared the recipe with ingredients on Instagram and explained some of its health benefits, including how it’s great for those who need to meet their daily protein requirements.

Quick veg roll with spicy mayo

Priya Anbalagan shared a quick veg roll recipe where she made the mayo by blending boiled eggs, red chillies, garlic cloves, and a little oil in a grinder. This created a spicy egg mayo, which she spread on a roti topped with chopped veggies like tomato, cucumber, onion, and capsicum. She rolled it for a quick bite and left the internet drooling.

Cheetos chicken lollipop

This was one of the most tempting dishes to surface online this year. A food influencer known as Great Indian ASMR created Cheetos chicken lollipops. He began by marinating the chicken legs, grilling them on a coal stove, and then shredding and mixing them with cheese, yogurt, and parsley. The mix was rolled back onto the bones and coated in eggs and crushed Cheetos. In the end, it was deep-fried to make it crispier and golden.

Papad omelette

Created by Indian recipe creator Parichay, this dish was inspired by another viral experiment—rice paper omelette. For papad omelette, the process started with shallow-frying papad, cracking an egg over it, and topping it with onions, tomatoes, cheese, and spices. Parichay called it a quick snack, a fun breakfast, and proof that classics can be made viral with a twist.

Quick fried chicken nuggets

Many people look for quick snack options, and the popularity of this reel shows why this one is worth trying. Recipe creator Easy Delights with Asra on Instagram showed how to make delicious nuggets by coating half-cooked chicken in egg and breadcrumbs. These are fried on medium heat until golden brown and crisp. This easy snack option was loved by the internet.

Dubai chocolate ‘Gajar Ka Halwa’ edition

Speaking of interesting twists, food creator Sanjana Modha—who enjoys giving traditional recipes a remix—shared a unique take on the viral chocolate bar by swapping the pistachio filling with homemade gajar ka halwa. She listed the ingredients and recipe in the caption, and the final result looked absolutely delicious.

Tandoori lauki

Bottle gourd (lauki) isn’t enjoyed by many even though it’s quite healthy, but a slight twist made it one of the most viral recipes this year. A video shared by ‘Foodie by birth’ showed a street vendor roasting bottle gourd in the tandoor until soft. It was mashed and kept aside. On the side, he sautéed green chillies and garlic, then added chopped onions, ghee, and tomatoes along with other spices. Once cooked, he added the mashed lauki and turned it into a delicious dish.

Khichdi parantha

In Indian kitchens, you can make paranthas out of anything, but hardly anyone imagines a khichdi parantha. In one of her videos, Gyanwati Bidhuri did exactly that. She used leftover khichdi and spread it over a flat dough. She then sprinkled it with spices and made a parantha on the tawa with butter. It was served with yogurt, which is a simple way to make the bread even more nutritious.
