It involves inflammation in the joints, the spots where bones meet, leading to symptoms like pain, swelling, and stiffness. It’s a common issue that affects millions of people and can impact your daily life.

Arthritis often brings on a dull or sharp pain in your joints that can range from mild to severe. This pain usually worsens with movement, making activities you once enjoyed, like gardening or playing with your kids, feel tough. Additionally, carrying excess weight puts extra pressure on your knees and hips, making it important to maintain a healthy weight to reduce strain on your joints.

Here are some simple and easy joint-friendly activities that can help you manage arthritis:

Cycling: Hop on a bike, whether it’s a stationary one or a regular ride around the neighnourhood. Cycling is super easy on your joints and gives you a great workout. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors or get some exercise while catching up on your favourite podcast. Just remember to adjust your seat so you’re not putting unnecessary strain on your knees.

Dancing: Put on your playlist and let loose on the dance floor. Dancing is not just an enjoyment, but it’s also great for your joints. Stick to low-impact styles like ballroom or gentle hip-hop to keep things easy on your body. You can even try out a dance class that’s designed for people with arthritis to get moving while having a blast.

Gardening: Digging in the dirt not only grows plants, it can boost your joint health too. Gardening can be soothing and is gentle on your joints if you keep it light.
