In today’s fast-paced world, managing stress can feel overwhelming, but adopting small, consistent habits can significantly improve well-being. Renowned celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala, who has worked with Bollywood icons like Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and Deepika Padukone, emphasises the power of simple, mindful practices to maintain balance and relaxation.

She recently revealed four key habits she follows to lead a stress-free life.

1. Prioritising daily exercise

Regular physical activity is a proven stress reliever. Whether it’s hitting the gym, playing a sport, or simply dancing to your favorite songs, movement helps boost energy levels and elevate mood. Yasmin highlights yoga as a particularly effective practice for strengthening the mind-body connection, fostering inner peace, and promoting overall relaxation.

2. Smart snacking for sustained energy

Unhealthy eating habits can exacerbate stress, making mindful snacking essential. Yasmin swears by almonds, which are packed with 15 essential nutrients and help curb hunger effectively. She always carries a box of almonds, whether she’s on a film set or conducting a training session. These nutrient-dense nuts support weight management, blood sugar control, stress reduction, heart health, and glowing skin. Other excellent snack choices include fruits, yogurt, and homemade trail mix. For an extra energy boost after a workout, she recommends hydrating options like fresh orange juice or lemon-infused water.

3. Staying hydrated

Proper hydration plays a critical role in managing stress and maintaining optimal health. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, and irritability, making it harder to stay focused and energized. Yasmin advises drinking plenty of water throughout the day and incorporating hydrating beverages like coconut water, herbal teas, or lemon water to keep the body refreshed. Keeping a water bottle handy can serve as a helpful reminder to stay hydrated, particularly during long work hours and workouts.

4. Prioritising ‘me time’

With the pressures of work, family, and social commitments, personal well-being often takes a backseat. However, Yasmin stresses the importance of carving out dedicated time for self-care. Engaging in activities like reading, listening to music, or meditating for a few minutes each day can help reset the mind, reduce stress, and restore mental clarity. Prioritising moments of relaxation allows individuals to tackle daily challenges with renewed energy and focus.
