Ranveer Allahbadia is a name that resonates with millions across the globe, especially among young entrepreneurs, content creators, and aspiring leaders. He has built a massive following with his podcasts, YouTube channels, and motivational content, often discussing topics related to personal growth, entrepreneurship, fitness, and more.
In a candid moment, Ranveer revealed how he dealt with his own battles, including his addiction to alcohol and marijuana. His journey serves as an inspiring narrative for those facing similar challenges.
At 17, Ranveer, like many teenagers, tried alcohol for the first time. It was out of curiosity, but little did he know that this experimentation would spiral into a period of heavy drinking during his college years.
His first year of engineering was marred by the consequences of alcohol addiction.
“I failed in my first year of college,” Ranveer had admitted, reflecting on the turning point that led him to reassess his habits. This failure became the catalyst for change.
As if alcohol wasn't enough, Ranveer also fell into the grip of marijuana use. Between the ages of 22 and 24, his experimentation with marijuana deepened. However, just when it seemed like his life might be spiraling out of control, he met someone who would change his path forever.
At 24, Ranveer crossed paths with his mentor, Manish Pandey, who introduced him to meditation and a more focused lifestyle.
"Maine khudki life mein addiction ke sath bauhat deal kiya hai. Meri addictive personality hai. Bad addiction se good addiction ke transformation mein maine bauhat kuch cheezein seekhi hai," Ranveer said in one of his podcasts.
“First, aap bauhat he addicted ho koi cheez se toh wo aapko weak banati hai. Aapko bass apne aap ko overcome karna hai uss moment. Agar aap pehli baar mind ko bol do ki nahi mujhe nahi karna.. mujhe ganja nahi phookna toh aapka mind strong ho jata hai,” he said, emphasising the strength of willpower in defeating addictions.
By 2018, Ranveer had taken significant strides in overcoming his addictions. His drinking habits, which had once been destructive, were replaced by more controlled choices. “When I quit drinking in 2018, I had switched from hard drinking from rum and vodka to beer and wine then I finally cut off,” he revealed.
Ranveer Allahbadia has courted controversy with his indecent remarks on parents intimate moments on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
An FIR has been filed against Allahbadia, Samay Raina and others. Many political leaders have criticised the podcaster for his vulgar comments.
