Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja made headlines in February after several rumors about their relationship swirled around the internet. They have since debunked the rumors of their divorce, with Sunita recently giving a befitting response to the reports.
During a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, the actress was asked about the divorce rumors. Sunita responded with a witty quip and said, “tu zyada hi bol raha hai beta (You’re talking too much now, son).”
Sunita further noted, “Mere ko koi farak nahi padhta koi bhi news aajaye. Maine pehle bhi bola hai jab tak hamare mou se nahi sunoge, koi bhi news ko react mat karna. Jab tak hum nai mou khole, baadme sab gole hie gole" (It doesn’t matter to me what news comes out. I’ve said before, until you hear it us, don’t react to anything. Until we speak, it’s all just speculation).”
In a previous interview with ABP, Sunita addressed the criticism about her and Govinda’s relationship and said, “Positive hai ya negative hai. Positive hai mujhe pata hai. Mai sochti hu kuttey hai log bhaukenge (Whether it’s positive or negative… I know it’s positive. I think people are like dogs — they will bark).”
For the unversed, the divorce rumors sparked after a video of Sunita went viral on social media. In the video, the actress claimed that she and Govinda lived separately. However, Sunita later clarified that Govida lived at different place because he had to constantly meet his political collegues.
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been together long before he became the Bollywood superstar he is today. The couple first met when Govinda was in his final year of his B.Com course and Sunita was in Class 9. The couple got married on 11 March 1987 and share two children: a daughter, Tina Ahuja, and a son, Yashvardhan.
