Sunita Ahuja files for divorce from Govinda on grounds of 'cheating and adultery': Reports

Bollywood superstar Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have fuelled divorce rumours once again. Sunita has recently broken down in her vlog while talking about the past rumours, and now new ones that have been swirling around.

The latest reports suggested that Sunita has filed for a divorce at Bandra Family Court, allegedly on the grounds of ‘adultery, cruelty and desertion.’

According to Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja has filed for divorce under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. According to the report, Govinda was summoned by the court on May 25, and the two have been attempting to resolve their differences since June. Govinda has been absent, but Sunita has been showing up for court on time.

However, this is not the first time they have fuelled divorce rumours. Previously, in February, multiple media reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's varied lifestyles and ongoing arguments were the reason behind their decision to split up.

The reports also claimed at the time that Govinda's increasing intimacy with a 30-year-old Marathi actress was also a significant contributing factor to their purported breakup.

However, the duo’s attorney later added that the couple was reconciling despite having filed for divorce six months prior. Govinda and Sunita are "going strong" and will always be together, according to Lalit Bindal, the actor's family friend.

Meanwhile, Sunita recently addressed the divorce rumours surrounding her marriage in her recent vlog. She visited a temple where, while speaking to the priest, she said that she had been visiting Mahalaxmi Mandir since her childhood.

Sunita broke down in tears and said, “Main jab Govinda se mili tab maine maata se wahi maanga ke meri shaadi usse ho jaaye aur jeevan acche se jaaye. Maata ne sab mannat poori kiya. Bacche bhi de diye dono (When I met Govinda, I prayed to the Goddess that I should get married to him and have a good life. The Goddess fulfilled all my wishes—she even blessed me with two children).”

She continued, “Par har sach milna aasan nahi hota, unch-neech ho jaata hai. Par main maata pe itna vishwas karti hoon ke aaj main agar kuch dekh bhi rahi hoon, toh main jaanti hoon jo mera ghar todne ki koshish karega, usko toh woh baithi hai Maa Kaali." (But not every truth in life is easy; there are always ups and downs. Still, I have so much faith in the Goddess that whatever I am witnessing today, I know that whoever tries to break my home, Maa Kaali is there).”

Sunita further noted, “Ek acche insaan ko aur ek acchi aurat ko dukh dena acchi baat nahi hai. Main teenon maata ko itna prem karti hoon. Jo bhi paristhiti hai aur jo ghar-parivaar todne ki koshish karega, usko Maa bakshegi nahi." (It is not right to cause pain to a good man and a good woman. I love all the three forms of the Goddess deeply. Whatever the situation may be, anyone who tries to break my family, Maa will not forgive them.)

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja tied the knot on March 11, 1987 and share two children: a daughter, Tina Ahuja, and a son, Yashvardhan.
