South Korean actor Song Ha Yoon has recently been faced with school bullying allegations. She took legal steps and filed a criminal complaint against the person who had accused her of bullying.
Song Ha’s legal representative, JI EUM Law Firm, has recently announced that the actress had worked to gather evidence disproving the school bullying allegations. She had submitted multiple supporting documents to the authorities.
According to Allkpop, the alleged victim has now come forward and responded to Song Ha’s lawsuit in a lengthy statement. In the statement, the accuser identified themselves as a U.S. citizen currently residing overseas. They denied allegations that they had declined to cooperate with the police investigation.
The statement reads, “Although I am the victim in this case, I was asked by the Korean police to appear for questioning. However, since I am staying abroad for the long term, I would have to cover all expenses, including airfare, lodging, and other travel costs. It is excessive and unreasonable to expect a victim to travel to Korea at their own expense just to be investigated.”
The accuser further alleged that Song’s transfer from Banpo High School to Gujeong High School was not voluntary. They pointed out that both schools are in the same district, suggesting that such a transfer would typically be prohibited unless it resulted from disciplinary measures.
The accuser stated, “This supports the argument that it was not a personal choice but a forced transfer due to school bullying.” They denied the distortion of any facts and said they are considering legal action against Song Ha Yoon for accusing them of defamation and spreading false information.
Meanwhile, Song Ha Yoon’s lawyers suggested that even though the police agreed that the accuser should be investigated for defamation and other charges, as they had not cooperated.
The actress’ legal team emphasised that she was never violent during school and was not transferred due to bullying. They provided official records, notarised documents, and statements from her classmates and teachers to support her side of the story.
