Salman Khan, one of the most beloved actors in Indian cinema, recently shared his thoughts on the box office performance of his films and how the audience's love transcends any notion of a film's quality. While discussing his upcoming movie Sikandar and its potential at the box office, Salman made an intriguing comment that highlights his confidence in the power of his fanbase. He said, “Sikandar achhi ho ya buri ho, it's the love of people, 100 crore to paar karva hi denge” (Whether Sikandar is good or bad, it’s the love of the people that will make it cross 100 crore).
This statement speaks volumes about Salman Khan’s understanding of the entertainment industry and the importance of his loyal followers. According to Salman, the success of a film doesn't solely depend on its content or critical reception. Rather, it's the audience's affection for the actor and their connection to his star power that propels a movie to box office success. For Salman, whether it's a festive or non-festive period, the sheer love from his fans ensures that his movies make a mark at the ticket window.
It’s not surprising that Khan holds this perspective, given his consistent history of delivering massive hits. However, his confidence doesn't end at the 100 crore mark. When the topic of the box office benchmark was raised, the coordinator suggested, "Rs 200 crore sir..." Salman, with his signature sense of humor, laughed and responded, “Haan, 200, 200. 100 bahot pehle ki baat hai” (Yes, yes, Rs 200 crore. Rs 100 crore is a thing of the past). This light-hearted response further emphasizes his belief that his films can exceed the expectations set by traditional benchmarks.
In Sikandar, Salman takes on the role of an ultimate savior, a character packed with the action, style, and charisma that his fans have come to expect. Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film features a star-studded ensemble, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. As the film prepares for its grand release on March 30, coinciding with Eid, expectations are high, and with Salman’s belief in his fanbase, Sikandar is poised for a strong box office performance.

The actor also touched upon the topic of aging and the scrutiny he faces on social media, particularly when his pictures are taken in a sleep-deprived state. He humorously shared, “Beech mein aisa gadbad ho jaata hai ki 6-7 raat soye nahin, fir veh social media vaale peeche padd jaate hain, unko dikhaana padta hai ki abhi bhi hai” (At times, things get so messed up that I don’t sleep for six to seven nights. Then, those social media people start chasing me, so I have to show them that I’ve still got it in me). This candid statement shows that despite his superstar status, Salman remains grounded, laughing off the pressures that come with fame.
As Sikandar prepares to release as the big Eid offering, it’s clear that Salman Khan continues to thrive on the love and loyalty of his fans, a factor that will undoubtedly drive the film's success, no matter the hurdles.
