Famous for his passion on screen and his aspirational spirit off, actor Vijay Deverakonda recently talked about a significant shift in his perspective on life.

The Arjun Reddy actor opened up about how the past two years, along with his relationship with actress Rashmika Mandanna, have allowed him to rediscover the pleasure of taking it slow and focussing on the important things in life.

“In the past two years, I have learnt to live life also,” Vijay said. “Before that, I was not like this. I didn't spend enough time with my mum and dad, I didn't spend enough time with my girlfriend. So now I make efforts, I make time for the people.”

Vijay made the heartfelt confession during The Girlfriend event where he attended as the chief guest, and one of the evening’s most touching moments came when he spoke about Rashmika with deep admiration and affection.

His words drew warm applause from the audience, but it was his genuine emotion that stood out. Speaking further, Vijay praised Rashmika’s grace and strength in the face of public scrutiny.

“She has faced her share of criticism and bullying. If it were me, I’d react immediately,” he admitted. “But Rashmika chooses kindness every single day, no matter what people say. One day, the world will see her for who she truly is. She is an amazing woman.”

The actor also revealed that The Girlfriend left a deep impression on him emotionally. “I was moved to tears watching it,” he confessed, applauding the team for their courage in handling such sensitive themes with honesty and care.

“More than box-office numbers, this film has sparked thought and awareness, inspiring women to speak up. Many commercial hits fail to make this kind of societal impact. Rahul and the producers have achieved something remarkable,” he said.
