Rashmika Mandanna has issued a clarification after her recent remarks about men experiencing periods sparked heated debate online.
The Pushpa star, who appeared on Jagapathi Babu’s talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, found herself at the centre of a social media storm after saying that men should have periods “at least once” to understand the pain women endure.
The clip from the show went viral almost instantly, drawing both support and criticism. While several users applauded her for voicing a widely shared sentiment among women, others accused her of being “insensitive” toward men.
Rashmika's perspective on men having periods :)) Sometimes we only want our pain & emotions to be understood. It was never about comparison or diminishing male responsibilities.. but fragile egos chose to twist it that way pic.twitter.com/tF52o6ct45— Shayla ⋆˙ (@bealive_79) November 11, 2025
One fan on X posted the video along with the caption, "Rashmika's perspective on men having periods :)) Sometimes we only want our pain & emotions to be understood. It was never about comparison or diminishing male responsibilities.. but fragile egos chose to twist it that way.”

Rashmika reshared the post and responded, “And this no one will talk about.. The fear of going to shows and interviews is this for me.. I mean something, and it's taken in something else entirely.” Her reaction indicated a clear frustration with how her statement had been interpreted.

In the original interview, when host Jagapathi Babu asked if she truly believed men should experience periods, Rashmika explained her perspective in detail. She replied, "Yes. I want them to get periods at least once, to know the pain and trauma. Due to hormonal imbalance, we feel emotions we don't understand. And you can't show that pressure on men because, no matter how much you explain, they don't understand the feeling. So, if men get periods just once, let them understand what period pain is like.”
She also shared her own struggles, adding, "I get such horrible period pain that I have even fainted once because of it. I've done numerous tests and consulted doctors, but nobody knows why it happens. Every month I wonder, 'God, why are you torturing me so much?' I feel like anyone can only understand it when they experience it. Which is why I think men should get periods at least once."
Despite the controversy, many fans have come out in her support, arguing that her comments simply reflect the intense physical and emotional load women face during their menstrual cycles—something often dismissed or misunderstood.
On the professional front, Rashmika was last seen in the Telugu film The Girlfriend, opposite Dheekshith Shetty. She has also been in the spotlight for her rumoured engagement to her long-time partner Vijay Deverakonda, with reports suggesting the couple may tie the knot in February next year.
