Parasakthi, the Tamil historical and political drama featuring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, has shown resilience at the box office as it completed its seventh day of release with respectable earnings. According to early estimates from box office tracking portal Sacnilk, the film earned approximately Rs 4.75 crore in India on day 7, bringing its cumulative first-week total to around Rs 41 crore.
Released on January 10, 2026, Parasakthi opened strongly over its first weekend, collecting Rs 12.5 crore on day 1, followed by about Rs 10.1 crore on day 2 and maintaining audience interest through the festive period. Despite a mid-week dip, collections saw an uptick again during the Pongal holiday, helping stabilise the film’s overall theatrical run.
As quoted by Sacnlik, after the strong early weekend, Parasakthi’s weekday figures dipped on Monday through Wednesday before rebounding on Thursday with higher attendance and an increase in ticket sales. By the end of the sixth day, the cumulative India net crossed Rs 36 crore, demonstrating steady demand even beyond the initial hype.
Audience turnout for Parasakthi has been bolstered by the Pongal holiday season, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where festival crowds contributed to higher occupancy and more evening shows. This seasonal boost helped the film navigate a competitive release window and sustain box-office viability despite mixed critical reception.
The film’s engaging story, set against the backdrop of socio-political movements in mid-20th-century Tamil Nadu, and Sivakarthikeyan’s performance have been central to its traction with audiences across regions. While trade analysts note that the film’s pace has slowed compared with blockbuster competitors, its first-week performance marks a noteworthy commercial outcome in the current release landscape.
As Parasakthi moves into its second week, box office watchers will track whether the film can maintain momentum and continue drawing in viewers, potentially adding to its cumulative total beyond the Rs 40-crore mark.
