With just weeks to go before its trailer launch, the plot of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has reportedly surfaced online, setting social media abuzz. The highly anticipated action thriller marks the return of Yash to the big screen after four years, following the massive success of the KGF franchise. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19.
According to a synopsis shared by Phars Film, the distributor handling the film in the GCC and Middle East, Toxic is set in Goa between the early 1940s and the 1970s. The narrative reportedly explores a turbulent era shaped by fading colonial influence and the rise of powerful crime syndicates along the coast. At its core is a man who builds his empire through bloodshed, fear and betrayal in a world where power is not inherited but seized.
The synopsis further suggests that smuggling routes become battlegrounds, loyalties fracture into suspicion and paranoia becomes a survival instinct. In a striking line, the description claims, “In the end, the only force more powerful than the consequences of his choices is the abyss within him,” hinting at a layered psychological arc beyond the high-octane action.
Toxic has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, positioning it as a major pan-India release. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair in key roles.
Interestingly, the film is set for a box office clash with Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh. Despite speculation about a possible postponement, reports indicate that Yash is confident about holding onto the lucrative Ugadi and Eid release window. Industry sources suggest he is banking on sustained theatrical performance rather than just a record-breaking opening weekend.
