Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna are currently preparing for their highly anticipated film, Chhaava. Fans are eagerly awaiting this collaboration as the duo gears up to bring something fresh and exciting to the big screen.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and Produced by Maddock films, Chhaava promises to be a compelling cinematic experience, with much excitement surrounding the storyline and the on-screen chemistry between the two stars. The duo who was in Delhi for the last leg of their film's Chhaava, shared their initial reactions after hearing the script from their director, Laxman Utekar.
They discussed the moment when they felt completely ready to take on their roles and commit to the film. Both Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna reflected on the key elements that convinced them they were prepared to embark on this exciting project.
At the press meet held in New Delhi, Rashmika told Money Control in her reply to a question, that she was indeed shocked when she got to know that she has been chosen for Yesubai.
She mentioned, "When I got Yesubai, I was surprised. I was very very surprised. I was like I don't know how Laxman sir actually thought about me as Yesubai. For me in my head that calculation would not add up. But when I saw the first look that we did in the l test, I myself surprised me."
"Like it was it was very amazing. I felt like it was meant to happen because the way Laxman sir and I got in touch and everything. but I was very surprised and the second I heard the script, there were many instances in the film where I was like I was convinced." She continued.
"one scene kay baad I was like, okay fine, I'm doing the film, and then he says some other scene. And then I'm like, okay, now do I have to do the film. And then it just kept adding on and I think the first time in my life I was just like so I'm doing the film. Before even walking out of the office, I was just convinced and it's not even because of, the whole romantic bit of it or Yesubai screen space or whatever. I did it for Chhaava" Rashmika added
She went on to say, "I like to like play sequences in the chhaava of, choreography, the fireograph or whatever, how Laxman sir actually said it, to me, I fell in love with it.."
When Vicky was asked the same question, he mentioned, "Me and Laxman sir were shooting Zara Hatke Zara Bachhke. I think it was January 2021 or December 2021. USs waqt sir ne actually mujhe thoda sa dekha Chatrapati Maharaj ki Kahaniya sunna na shuru krdia tha without telling me what the plan is."
He further added, "Aur halaki main Maharashtra Board main padha hu, humare history books main mention tha, main finest details nhi jaanta tha, toh jab unhone mujhe btana shuru kiya toh I was very fascinated and then later he told me yeh agli picture hai aur tum mere Chhaava ho."
Chhaava is portrayed as a "captivating tale of a fearless warrior, whose coronation on February 14, 1681, marked the beginning of an extraordinary reign." The film draws inspiration from the courageous journey of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the legendary Shivaji Maharaj, and highlights his monumental contributions to history.
Through this cinematic venture, the audience will witness the valor and determination of Sambhaji Maharaj, who played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the Maratha Empire.
Vicky Kaushal takes on the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a fearless warrior committed to safeguarding the honor of the Maratha Empire and protecting it from the threats of the Delhi Sultanate. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Maharani Yesubai, the revered wife of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who was known as the Chatrapati Maharani of the Maratha Kingdom.
Akshaye Khanna, a key member of the cast, plays the antagonist, Aurangzeb, one of the most notorious rulers of the Mughal Empire. His portrayal adds a layer of intensity to the epic confrontation between the two legendary figures, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava is projected to have a strong opening at the box office on Friday, February 14. The film has already generated an impressive Rs 5.46 crore through advance bookings, reflecting a high level of early demand and anticipation from audiences.
