Rashmika Mandanna reveals 'her partner' helped heal her past relationship trauma: " He has helped me heal"

During an interview with Suma, Rashmika revealed that the characters in The Girlfriend including Vikram, Durga, and Bhooma exist in real life too.

Rashmika Mandanna is riding high on the success of her latest film The Girlfriend, which released in theatres on November 7 this year. Alongside the film’s positive response, she has also been in the spotlight for her rumoured engagement to actor Vijay Deverakonda, although the couple has never confirmed their relationship. In a recent interview, Rashmika opened up about her past relationship and shared insights that quickly caught the attention of fans.

During an interview with Suma, Rashmika revealed that the characters in The Girlfriend including Vikram, Durga, and Bhooma exist in real life too. She acknowledged that she had once been in a relationship where she felt she had "no choice," drawing comparisons between her personal experiences and those of her character Bhooma. She emphasised that being truly happy in a relationship is more important than staying with someone merely for the sake of it.

She said, "Choose who you want to be with. You shouldn’t be in a position where you have no choice but you’re with a partner. I have done that. Today, when I choose to be with a person, I am happy, that person is happy, everyone around is happy."

The Thamma actress shared that her current partner has helped her heal from emotional wounds caused by a previous relationship. "Luckily, I have a partner who has healed me from a pain he didn’t cause. So, for me, as Bhooma, he has helped me heal. Like how this film is for me, he has the same equal… I have to give him that applause and thank him for it," she said. Fans believe she is referring to Vijay, though she did not name him anywhere.

Although she did not mention Vijay Deverakonda by name, Rashmika also spoke about how her current partner supports her, especially when she faces social media trolling. "When you are being trolled, you are aware of it. In my house, my own partner, I’ll be like, I’m getting trolled so much. He says, ‘there’s nothing like that. Why are you overthinking?’ He says he doesn’t notice it at all. You’re not seeing it, but I am. They even tag and make sure I see it," she added.

Rashmika and Vijay’s rumoured romance and alleged engagement have long been a topic of public curiosity, even though the duo continues to maintain silence.

On the work front, Rashmika was recently seen in The Girlfriend, while Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for the release of Kingdom.
