Prabhas injured during action shoot, to skip 'Kalki 2898 AD' Japan premiere

Following its ₹1000 crore success, 'Kalki 2898 AD' sequel production will begin after the lead actress returns from maternity leave.

Prabhas' highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD is gearing up for its grand premiere in Japan, generating significant buzz among international fans. However, reports suggest that Prabhas, who was originally scheduled to grace the event, might skip the premiere due to an injury sustained during a recent shoot.

Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation regarding his attendance. Despite this setback, the film continues to draw immense attention for its star-studded cast, futuristic storyline, and visually stunning cinematography, making it one of the most awaited releases globally.

A fan recently shared a post showcasing a heartfelt letter written by Prabhas, which quickly garnered attention online. The note read, "Thank you for your constant love and support for me and my work. I had been eagerly looking forward to visiting Japan, but unfortunately, I sprained my ankle during filming and won't be able to attend. Our distributor, Twin, has been incredibly supportive, and we are grateful for their efforts in ensuring that Kalki 2898 AD will be ready for its release on Friday, January 3rd. I look forward to seeing you all soon. – Prabhas"

Kalki 2898 AD shattered box office records upon its release, crossing the ₹1000 crore milestone. With the film’s massive success, the makers are now shifting their focus to the sequel. According to recent reports, production for the second installment will commence after the lead actress returns from her maternity leave, ensuring her portions are filmed seamlessly.

On the work front, Prabhas will next star in Spirit, where he will portray the role of a cop. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is set to be made on a massive budget of ₹300 crore. The director previously expressed confidence that the film will collect ₹150 crore on its opening day.

The pre-production for Spirit is currently underway, with the makers expected to announce the cast and crew soon.
