Rishab Shetty's much awaited film, Kantara: Chapter 1 has finally arrived on OTT and fans can't keep calm.
After a thunderous run at the box office, the film that captured hearts across India is ready to stream on Amazon Prime Video from midnight tonight (October 31).
The cinematic spectacle, which explores the divine blend of faith, folklore, and human conflict, continues to hold its ground in theatres even as festive releases like Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat hit screens.
On Tuesday alone, Kantara 2 earned Rs 2.28 crore for its Hindi version, pushing its total to an impressive Rs 209.63 crore. Clearly, the film’s roar is far from fading.
A reliable source revealed just how high the stakes were for the digital release, saying, “Amazon Prime Video has shelled out a whopping amount for the digital rights of Kantara. The film will be available for viewing in multiple languages including Hindi and English for the subscribers across all the major six continents. Considering the success of Kantara 1, Prime Video was happy to pay a mind-boggling amount to snatch the digital rights of Kantara 2. It paid a premium amount to keep the exclusive online rights for the film, ensuring that it becomes the number one destination for all the films in Kantara franchise.”
Following the success of Kantara Chapter 1, which became one of India’s highest-grossing films and outperformed releases from industry giants like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, expectations for the new chapter have been sky-high — and Shetty has more than delivered.
Streaming in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, Kantara 2 is not just another film — it’s an experience that transcends language and geography.
